Natural Square Step Cut Emerald and Diamond Baguette Ballerina Skirt, Platinum Ring, size O or 7.25

Releasing this beauty from my PC (and will likely live to regret it). 

The most fabulous natural emerald in the brightest mint green (officially called vivid green on the valuation) - just look at her sing in the sunshine and the shade. She absorbs the light and casts it round her facets to just make her sing. Set in a ballerina skirt this fabulous ring does a magnificent job of re-creating the Art Deco Era even though it was made in the 1970s. Made of platinum this ring is the pinnacle of white metals - strong and robust and never needs coated (unlike white gold).

We cannot get enough of the colour of the vivid square step cut emerald and the delicate baguette ballerina skirt. Truly like a tutu the varying lengths of baguettes are carefully constructed to give the most glorious shape and as you turn your hand the light dances of each like piano keys running up and down. 

An heirloom for generations to come.

Condition light wear - evidence of re-sizing at the back - the valuation notes that the ring is slightly oval in shape - and it describes the setting as "poor" which we questioned - apparently this has nothing to do with the setting of the stones which is good (and they are well secure) - it is because it is a cast 1970s ring in the style of the Art Deco and not original Art Deco (go figure). 

Care - As a general rule - jewellery should not be worn for strenuous tasks that may put pressure, chemicals and weight on them (think cleaning, gym, carrying things). Emeralds are a soft gemstone - they cannot be put in ultrasonics and should be worn with care. Jewellery should be checked every six months by a jeweller to check for wear.

Stones may have tiny marks, chips or flea bites, metal will have marks of wear like surface scratches; but any bigger flaws will be clearly highlighted above.
