We don't know the history of this piece -but we really do feel like it screams at us that this is a custom made vintage (pre1973) pendant made to fit this stone that was clearly important to the owner. The late 1960s and 1970s was a key time in Australian gem fields where tourists were encouraged through advertising to come and dig and the fossicking craze erupted. 

This piece fits that time period - and this amazing stone is a fabulous green with iron rich inclusions - a classic Australian stone. This stone has also been hand cut. Based on a Carre Cut the square steps are fabulous as they reflect the greens and reddy browns hues.

The angular shape of this pendant is amazing and highlights the stone so well - the flat gold surfaces and the pointy angles - all amazing. The claws are also uniquely placed - the bottom corners with the talons and the top with the little hook - to really allow those top corners to be visible and highlight the angular shape.

Stone - modified Carre Cut - done by hand - 5.8 x 5.8 x 3.75 - roughly 1 carat - hard to know precisely as it is not a standard cut 

Hallmarks  9ct - likely vintage Australian 

Condition - the stone has a chip - bottom right corner under the claw (this has been taken into account with price)- visible in some macro photos - the stone is natural with iron rich brown inclusion - stone is hand cut - stone base sits beneath the base of the pendant - light wear to metal in general 

Care - As a general rule - jewellery should not be worn for strenuous tasks that may put pressure, chemicals and weight on them (think cleaning, gym, swimming/spa, carrying things). Jewellery should be inspected checked every six months by a jeweller to check for wear.

Please be aware that this item is pre-loved and therefore is NOT new. Please see the pictures and description to ensure you are happy with it before you buy. Stones may have tiny marks, chips or flea bites, metal will have marks of wear like surface scratches; but any bigger flaws will be clearly highlighted above. Also note - none of the other items or props in the photo come with the item and all measurements are approximate.

Sizing

What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.

We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.

Current prices are: $40 for sizing down, $40 for rhodium plating (all white gold rings), and sizing up starts at $50 - and depends on the carat of gold, width of band and number of sizes. These are subject to change at any time and remain linked to the volatile changes in precious metals.

Time frames - sizing is usually complete within 3 weeks.

Lay-by

Lay-by is available on all full price items (sale items can be bought on a split payment).

As well as Afterpay and Paypal Pay-in-4 which are available at checkout, we also do traditional lay-by.

So, if you love this piece but can't afford it right now - please get in touch.  

To secure your item, we require a 20% non-refundable deposit. Items will not be removed from the website until this is paid.

Following this, you will need to make further monthly payments of 20% until the full balance is complete, a time frame of 5 months in total. 

Invoices will be issued at the start of each month and we ask they are paid before the start of the following month.

We issue all invoices through the website, and it accepts all cards, Shop Pal, Paypal and Afterpay as payment.

Valuations

Some of our items come with valuations we either got with the piece, or that we have had done by an independent gemologist. We do not get valuations done on all pieces as we like to keep things as affordable as possible. However, we use a number of instruments to help us determine stones and list these details in the description of each piece.

Shipping

Australian based company shipping to Australia and New Zealand.

Parcels are shipped within 24 hours.

Australian shipping is express post and fully insured.

International items under $500 are shipped standard airmail and items over $500 express airmail.

All items are sent trackable, fully insured and requiring a signature on delivery.

Any items leaving Australia will have a signed customs declaration stating what is in the box.
