As lots of you will know we are a sucker for an older hand cut stone - so when we came across this beauty we could not resist - older hand cut stones - and a very striking 1970s style. These fourteen diamonds are round transitional brilliant diamonds. What does that mean? It means that they are stones cut between the 1920s and 1950s as old cuts were phased out and people moved to round brilliants - it gives them the most magical checkerboard appearance. We can only assume these stones came from a family ring and were re-fashioned into a striking engagement and wedding ring combo.

Add to these stones the striking chunky buttery 18ct gold designs of 1970s and 1980s where chunky gold was affordable and cluster rings in asymmetric bypass styles were all the rage. This amazingly sparkly natural diamond ring screams of this Era.

This ring comes with an independent valuation for $5530 from 2026 that comes with the purchase

FAQ

Sizing

What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.

We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.

Current prices are: $40 for sizing down, $40 for rhodium plating (all white gold rings), and sizing up starts at $50 - and depends on the carat of gold, width of band and number of sizes. These are subject to change at any time and remain linked to the volatile changes in precious metals.

Time frames - sizing is usually complete within 3 weeks.

Lay-by

Lay-by is available on all full price items (sale items can be bought on a split payment).

As well as Afterpay and Paypal Pay-in-4 which are available at checkout, we also do traditional lay-by.

Valuations

Some of our items come with valuations we either got with the piece, or that we have had done by an independent gemologist. However, we use a number of instruments to help us determine stones and list these details in the description of each piece.
