Art Deco Diamond and Sapphire Trilogy in Raised Handmade Engraved Floral Setting, 14ct White Gold, size U or 10 - offering free resize down to 7 or O, with valuation
Forever in my blue and white Era. Since I first fell in love with jewellery (age 10 on a trip back from Kenya to the UK) and staring in all the jewellery shop windows - I can remember a particular antique store on a corner in Edinburgh. In it, was the most magnificent selection of antique jewels and amongst them the sapphire and diamonds in white gold and platinum. These have always made my heart sing - the classic nautical combination and the crisp white against the deep blue.
This handmade Art Deco beauty features a central round brilliant diamond (suggesting this was a Circa 1940s piece). The diamond has been assessed as a 0.23ct G-H colour stone VS1. On either side are two trilliant cut synthetic sapphires - which were totally en vogue for this time period. The pairing of the round diamond and the triangular sapphires is iconic and we see it in so many similar rings.
The raised handmade white gold setting is in lovely condition and those floral shoulders are particularly striking. This ring has been re-shanked - likely when it was sized up to the size U it is now. If you look at the side profile this ring is not round - because the head was originally made for a much smaller finger - so it would do well getting sized down to anything approaching 7 or O.
Comes with an independent valuation for $2600AU from Jan 2024

Condition - light wear given the age, engraving still lovely and clear, setting good. There is a small line crack across the band - this is easily fixed by our jeweller, but with the age of the ring he suggested just doing it once when we re-size - hence the offer of a free re-size on this piece.

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.
