We love an intaglio fob - the romance of the imagination of the quill scribed parchment sealed with wax - set with the initials of the writer. This fabulous set of initials appears to me JJP or PJJ - and that hand carved detail is amazing - just look at the craftsmanship of the intertwined letters. The fob is stone - and we are guessing of the quartz/ agate family.
Set in 9ct gold, the edges are covered in a fabulous vine and leaf engraved pattern. This pattern also sits beneath the swirled gold that builds to the bail. We love the opulence of the gold, the engraved details, the swirls. It all screams of the most fabulous past.
We have just had the bail re-built and a fabulous large jump ring attached - this will fit on most chains and Albert clasps - and it is ready for another whole lifetime of love.
Particulars:
Weight 3.19g
Width 18 x 14.7 x 12.7mm on a 9 x 6.6mm oval jump ring
Hallmarks - none - acid tested to confirm
Condition - bail has been rebuilt and reclaimed jump ring added, some minor chips to the intaglio face, good condition for age.
Care - As a general rule - jewellery should not be worn for strenuous tasks that may put pressure, chemicals and weight on them (think cleaning, gym, swimming/spa, carrying things). Jewellery should be inspected every six months by a jeweller to check for wear.

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.
Current prices are: $40 for sizing down, $40 for rhodium plating (all white gold rings), and sizing up starts at $50 - and depends on the carat of gold, width of band and number of sizes. These are subject to change at any time and remain linked to the volatile changes in precious metals.
