We have been waiting and hoping to find a perfect pairing - because both of these Albertina's are just too long as bracelets (although if you have larger wrists these would be so multifunctional in your world).
Two antique foxtail chain slider Albertina's joined to make the most amazing and tactile necklace. Two sliders - although truth be told the non-moving one holds the form better, two albert clasps, a t-bar and a tassel, and the movement these all offer - diivne.
This is the perfect accompaniment to a little black dress - it has all the details, history and tactile feels needed.
Due warning - three & four rows of foxtail chain are not going to lie perfectly flat around a neck, they will move and cross - it is just part of owning this fabulous old chain.
Particulars:
Length 17.5 inches or 44.5cm with a further drop of 8.5cm or just under 3.5 inches to the base of the tassel
Individual lengths - 3 strand 22.5 cm, 4 strand 22cm
Weight 43.75g
Width - clasps 18 & 18.5, t-bar - 36mm, tassel - 36mm rectangluar slider 12 x 18mm other slider -23.7 x 14.6mm
Hallmarks t-bat has "A" of Chester 1901, the lion passant for silver and a makers mark E.P
Condition - this is an antique - The four strand chain slider does not slide - which helps with it sitting on the neck - it also has worn through on one of the end flowers - see photos. The three strand one can slide and can get stuck, she is a fickle beast - and just needs gentle coaxing. The position it was stuck in for likely decades is darker than the the rest of the chain.
Care - As a general rule - jewellery should not be worn for strenuous tasks that may put pressure, chemicals and weight on them (think cleaning, gym, swimming/spa, carrying things). Jewellery should be inspected checked every six months by a jeweller to check for wear.
Please be aware that this item is pre-loved and therefore is NOT new. Please see the pictures and description to ensure you are happy with it before you buy. FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.
Current prices are: $40 for sizing down, $40 for rhodium plating (all white gold rings), and sizing up starts at $50 - and depends on the carat of gold, width of band and number of sizes. These are subject to change at any time and remain linked to the volatile changes in precious metals.
Time frames - sizing is usually complete within 3 weeks.

Valuations
Some of our items come with valuations we either got with the piece, or that we have had done by an independent gemologist. However, we use a number of instruments to help us determine stones and list these details in the description of each piece.
