Walk back with us through time - to a time before cars, when women's suffrage movement was taking form, before global wars, and when Victoria still sat on the throne.
Made in 1898-1899 this fabulous 18ct ring was stamped in Birmingham Uk and in its nearly 130 years since then has made its way to Australia. The face of the ring and the engraving as still wonderfully clear and pronounced and suggests this treasure was well loved and only worn for special occasions. Made in the most buttery 18ct gold the shimmer off the metal is amazing. Add to it the hand cut details and shoulders - we are smitten.
Set with an old cut diamond - it is crazy to think that these stones were cut by hand. The hardest element on earth, cut by hand with no power tools. The mind boggles. This gorgeous stone is all about the personality of the old cut, the higgedly piggedly facets, the tall crown, the open culet. This stone would win no modern awards for clarity or symmetrical cutting, but boy does it pull on the heart strings.

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.
Current prices are: $40 for sizing down, $40 for rhodium plating (all white gold rings), and sizing up starts at $50 - and depends on the carat of gold, width of band and number of sizes. These are subject to change at any time and remain linked to the volatile changes in precious metals.
Time frames - sizing is usually complete within 3 weeks.
