This is our second (and final large oval zircon) in this amazing hue. Because so many of you were sad when the original one sold, we have scoured to find a setting for the bigger sister stone. This one is 7.9ct (up from 6.1ct) and a slightly more mauvy depth - but still in that amazing roses damask palette you all fell in love with.
Shakespeare famously compared a woman's blush to "roses damask'd" and I think it is the most perfect comparison. That twinkle of life and light in a woman's cheekbones when she smiles. And this amazing zircon is that colour - damask rose - those warm purpley pink tones that brighten and fade against the pale and sparkle like only a zircon does.
Zircons have been dated to the formation of the earth - 4.4 billion years ago - and they are therefore often called "embers of time". It really is hard to imagine just how old these crystals are - and how fortunate we are to get to wear and hold them.
Held in a fabulous double claw setting that we had re-tipped for longevity - we love the warmth of the gold against the tans. pinks and mauves of the stone. With decorative sloping shoulders we love the way the light catches the engraving on the reverse tapered design.
The stone is new to this vintage setting - hand fossicked and hand cut here in Australia by two gents over their lifetime. The ultimate in sustainable fashion - the vintage (pre 1973) ring with a locally sourced slow fashion stone. This is the largest of the remaining stones - so if you are after big this is it.

Care - Zircons are only a 7 on the Mohs scale - so as it is worn it will get scratched - this is to be expected in owning a zircon. As a general rule - jewellery should not be worn for strenuous tasks that may put pressure, chemicals and weight on them (think cleaning, gym, swimming/spa, carrying things). Jewellery should be inspected checked every six months by a jeweller to check for wear.

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.
Current prices are: $40 for sizing down, $40 for rhodium plating (all white gold rings), and sizing up starts at $50 - and depends on the carat of gold, width of band and number of sizes. These are subject to change at any time and remain linked to the volatile changes in precious metals.
Time frames - sizing is usually complete within 3 weeks.
