Those of you who know us will know that zircons (and in particular blue zircons) are one of our favourite stones. With a sparkle and lustre only outdone by diamonds these amazing natural stones are captivating in their fire. The colour is the other reason we love them - more turquoisey than aquamarines and deep than topaz, these sky blue stones are captivating. Having fallen in popularity due to its name sounding like the dreaded man made Cubic Zirconia (which it has no relation to) - we love it even more for its niche appeal. This particular stone is one of the paler zircons we have seen - but glance through the photos and you will see everything from ice blue to turquoise.

Dunklings is one of the better known jewellery retail stores in Melbourne. With stores in the city between 1898 and the 1990s they are identified by their "W (carat weight) D" hallmark these pieces are getting harder and harder to find. This almost flawless 1930s platinum and 18ct gold ring is a fantastic reminder of their amazing craftsmanship.

This amazing 1930s beauty is a prize piece of craftsmanship. With a central 5.6mm blue zircon (approx 0.88ct) that has so much fire and lustre. Claw set in 8 platinum claws this stone is in near flawless condition. Due to zircon only being a 7 on the Mohs scale and there being no facet wear, we suspect this ring has been barely worn, if worn at all.

Set on split shoulders of milgrained platinum this ring features a total of 14 hand cut single cut diamonds. These perfectly match the stone, its 1930s history, and it is such an elegant and refined sparkle.

FAQ

Sizing

What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.

We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.

Lay-by

As well as Afterpay and Paypal Pay-in-4 which are available at checkout, we also do traditional lay-by.

So, if you love this piece but can't afford it right now - please get in touch.

To secure your item, we require a 20% non-refundable deposit. Items will not be removed from the website until this is paid.

Following this, you will need to make further monthly payments of 20% until the full balance is complete, a time frame of 5 months in total.

Invoices will be issued at the start of each month and we ask they are paid before the start of the following month.

We issue all invoices through the website, and it accepts all cards, Shop Pal, Paypal and Afterpay as payment.

Valuations

Some of our items come with valuations we either got with the piece, or that we have had done by an independent gemologist. We do not get valuations done on all pieces as we like to keep things as affordable as possible. However, we use a number of instruments to help us determine stones and list these details in the description of each piece.
