Pre 1953 Rectangular Step Cut Blue Dutch Spinel Ring, 14ct Yellow Gold, size S or 9
Pre 1953 Rectangular Step Cut Blue Dutch Spinel Ring, 14ct Yellow Gold, size S or 9
This gorgeous vintage ring hails from Utrecht in the Netherlands and was made at some point between 1906 and 1953. Bearing a gorgeous sky blue synthetic spinel that glistens at every turn, the angular faces of the bold rectangle are amazing. Held in a fabulous semi bezel north south setting with raised decorative golden edges the blue and gold are rich in their colours together. The gold is 583 gold - which was the standard in the Netherlands until 1953. It is 2 parts per hundred less than modern 14ct gold (which is 585) - and we love that so much - so precise - and because it is not made any longer - we love it all the more.

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.
