Of all the garnets - the green is one of the most sought after - and it is not hard to see why. These particular green garnets were only discovered in the 1960s and are only found in one tiny area of Africa. Originally found in Tsavo (silent T) in Kenya, they have also now been found just over the border in Tanzania, a small number in Madagascar and even a few in Antartica and Pakistan - but not in real numbers. Even still the area that these stones are found in is tiny and the mines are beginning to run dry.
Made famous by the big T company in the 60s - alongside tanzanite - the price of these gems skyrocketed - and why wouldn't they - from a tiny location, used by famous jewellery companies and in the most fabulous colour - it is not a surprise.
These deep vivid green tsavorites are on the darker end of the range that they come in (we have some of her paler sisters in store too if you need a comparison). But these stones are fabulously big - a combined carat weight of 5.18ct.
Claw set in 9ct yellow gold, this ring is all about those green stones - which in the shade are a deep dark green - but take it into the light and watch the vivid greens dance through the stones - magical.
This ring comes with an independent valuation for $7400 AU from 2026

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.
Current prices are: $40 for sizing down, $40 for rhodium plating (all white gold rings), and sizing up starts at $50 - and depends on the carat of gold, width of band and number of sizes. These are subject to change at any time and remain linked to the volatile changes in precious metals.
Time frames - sizing is usually complete within 3 weeks.
