Antique - likely Victorian - Fancy Link 9ct Rosey Gold Double Watch Chain with Fob, 21inches, 41.25g
This divine double Albert watch chain is in the most remarkable condition, and it is getting so much harder to find full necklace length chains. Featuring alternating wide paperclip links and love links, each joined with a pair of jump rings. This chain has the most wonderful handmade feel and this is supported in its lack of hallmarks. The fob alone is hallmarked "9.375" and has the maker’s mark “J. K”. According to our trusty maker’s mark book, this appears to be the work of Joseph Knight, of Birmingham who was known to work in Victorian times (he has been dated to 1878 on some pieces) and he lists his profession as “gold chain maker”. Given the chain style and colour of the gold would suggest that this chain is in indeed this old. Further supporting this is that watch chains fell from interest with the invention of the wrist watch in the early 1920s, there is every chance that this chain is an antique that has just sat in a drawer, waiting on its new custodian. The clasps are in amazing condition and they are strong in their springs and (just like the rest of the chain) feel very unused. At 21 inches around the neck, this is such a wearable length. Making this chain a truly remarkable piece and the holy grail of watch chains.

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.
