Of all the Roman Myths and Legends, the most famous and most popular is that of the twins, Romulus and Remus. So famous is this myth that it exists as statues, artworks and even commemorative coins. The coin we used to cast this pedant is a bronze coin from 330-334AD and it is one of the earliest commemorative coins on record - looking at the mythical creation of Rome.

A short refresher of that all important myth - Fathered by the Roman god Mars and Vestal Virgin Rhea, the infant twins Romulus & Remus were banished by the king (and mother's uncle) and set adrift on the River Tiber. Found and raised by a she-wolf and a woodpecker, they grew to overthrow this king, and Romulus killed Remus. Romulus built the city of Rome where the duo had been raised in the wild, and lived for 40 years as a great revered ruler. His memory elevated to the status of a god, and this is why it is said that the city of Rome is named after him.

Featuring the she-wolf sucking the twins Romulus and Remus under two stars on the front and the goddess Roma on the back (who was the embodiment of Rome) this coin is literally a coin commemorating how amazing and powerful Rome has become - in history, culture, strength and expansion.

Each pendant has a hand made, individual bail - so no two are the same - you can see in the pictures that they are slightly different widths and profiles. Should you wish a different bail - please get in touch.

In the Sterling Silver option - you can also order this with or without a chain - chains are brand new sterling silver curb chains in two lengths - 45cm or 50cm.

In ordering one of these, please allow 3 weeks to have this ready for posting. Also please know that the silver ones will come in the high polished variety, but the patina that you see on some of the pendants will build over time.

FAQ

Sizing

What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.

We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.
