Having started our own obsession with coins and building a family tree of coins, the hoard quickly grew. In it we found space for amazing pieces not related to us in any way shape or form. When we found the coin frame of Faustina Jr and released her to the shop we realised just how popular coins and coin frames are, and it was not just us (I guess I have always figured my penchant for hoarding, coins and rum made me a pirate in a past life - but lots of you it seems have the itch too!). We found it so hard to find Ancient Coins locally, it is not something SE Queensland is big on, so we have amassed a little collection for you to pick from. However, if there is something specific - please get in touch - we can get looking.

Over the last couple of years we have purchased items that have turned out to be too broken to repair, so they have sat there gathering dust. Until, eureka, we figured out that we do not have to scrap them and send them off for refining instead we can use them to have hand made coin frames custom made by our amazing jewellers to fit each coin. We will be bringing a set of designs, but they will always end up being unique as they will each be handmade.

So if this is something you would like to pursue - we have put the current coins that are available in the pictures and approximate prices of what it would take to transform these into frames like the start pictures (prices will be more if you want them to be spinning, extra chunky gold or have stones). Some of them are reversible, others are not - it just depends on how the coin was struck. But message us - let's start the conversation.

FAQ

Sizing

What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.

We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.

Lay-by

As well as Afterpay and Paypal Pay-in-4 which are available at checkout, we also do traditional lay-by.

So, if you love this piece but can't afford it right now - please get in touch.

To secure your item, we require a 20% non-refundable deposit. Items will not be removed from the website until this is paid.

Following this, you will need to make further monthly payments of 20% until the full balance is complete, a time frame of 5 months in total.

Invoices will be issued at the start of each month and we ask they are paid before the start of the following month.

We issue all invoices through the website, and it accepts all cards, Shop Pal, Paypal and Afterpay as payment.

Valuations

Some of our items come with valuations we either got with the piece, or that we have had done by an independent gemologist. We do not get valuations done on all pieces as we like to keep things as affordable as possible. However, we use a number of instruments to help us determine stones and list these details in the description of each piece.
