Custom Cut 3.54ct Oval Whiskey Brown Zircon, Bezel Set, 9ct Yellow Gold Birmingham Made 1994 Ring, size P or 7.75
Zircons - so magical in their colours, and their sparkle is legendary. The second most sparkly natural stone on the plant (after diamond) and this amazing rich whiskey toned stone does not disappoint.
This stone has sat in our gems since 2023. For those eagle eyed amongst you, you will remember the synthetic yellow sapphire that had been in this ring. Our first call is always to try to sell things as they are for rings without stone or metal damage - but with such an amazing setting and a synthetic stone this ring sat. So we knew what magic we could make happen - with a brand new bezel set collet and the 3.535ct oval zircon this beauty is now the perfect ring. The stone is deep in its whisky tones in those amazing bright dancing hues, and with the carved surrounds this ring is a perfect embodiment of Autumn and all that is fabulous about it - look at the acorn imagery of the stone and surrounds and this ring is the warmth of fire after a cold day in the snow.
We love a complete story - knowing all the history of the piece - so settle in for this yarn.
Local Queensland lapidary clubs are filled with fascinating individuals and stories - all keen to share stories and knowledge of all their adventures. One of the amazing old gents lamented that none of his four children were interested in his finds - and so he was parting with some of them. We were so lucky to acquire a handful of his amazing zircons that he had fossicked by hand over the last 50 years across the Harts Ranges in the Northern Territory and out near Emerald in Queensland. These wonderfully sized stones were earthy and rich in their tones - caramels, whiskies, coffees (and even the pink we had cut and set earlier in the year). Stones of this size are just not found any more. This stone was then cut by our amazing team on the Gold Coast - so here we have a locally acquired stone, dug out by hand, and then custom cut within the state.

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.
Lay-by
As well as Afterpay and Paypal Pay-in-4 which are available at checkout, we also do traditional lay-by.

Valuations
Some of our items come with valuations we either got with the piece, or that we have had done by an independent gemologist.
