Art Deco Synthetic Sapphire, Hand Cared Filigree, 9ct White Gold, size P1/2 or 7.75
Art Deco Synthetic Sapphire, Hand Cared Filigree, 9ct White Gold, size P1/2 or 7.75
This ring is exactly what got me interested in vintage jewellery in the first place. As a sucker for a white metal (in the minority here I know) I fell in love with the intricacy of filigree carvings in jewellery settings. The precision, the detail and the romantic symbolism often employed has meant that white metal filigree has been my first love for as long as I can remember. Add a blue stone and my heart swoons - the colour combination of white and blue is iconic and the nautical colour pairing is seen globally in so many areas - and it is no surprise. This amazing 9ct white gold ring (likely Australian made) features hand carved hearts and swirls in the basket and shoulders. The 6 pairs of double claws hold the cornflower blue sapphire securely and that almost periwinkle colour of the stone and the sparkle are just magical. The early part of the 20th Century brought the synthetic sapphire buzz - these stones were brighter, clearer and of better colours - and they were seriously en vogue.

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.
