Vintique Parti Sapphire and Old Cut Diamond Cluster, 15ct Yellow Gold, size O or 7.25
Vintique Parti Sapphire and Old Cut Diamond Cluster, 15ct Yellow Gold, size O or 7.25
The holy grail of vintique rings - 15ct (check), old cut diamonds (check)... and now add a brand new (cut by us) natural Australian parti sapphire to replace a synthetic ruby that was not doing the ring enough favours.
This parti sapphire is a fabulous mix of green and yellow, close up you can see the striations of colour, but on the hand it is a fabulous limey green that does not overpower the ring. The yellow and green are like a field blowing in the wind and this subtle colour shift instead invites the eye - to the warmness of the 15ct gold, and the sparkle of the old cut diamonds. This parti is warm like the gold and enough of a contrast to the diamonds - it is a perfect fit.
15ct gold is just the pinnacle of golds as far as we are concerned. Made by only two countries that we know of (the UK and Australia) - although it was in other commonwealth countries too. This gold only existed from late Georgian times (it was brought into official assay offices in 1850 but it was around before) and it was stopped in 1932 when they streamlined to remove it and 12ct. The perfect rosey hue - there just is not another gold like it, and means this ring was made pre 1932 - so it is approaching an "antique" title.
This piece is not hallmarked - but when we aquired it, it had been valued with the ruby in it - so we know it has been XRF tested (think X-ray for gold) and the diamonds assessed for size and colour by a gemologist. They are approximately 0.24ct and are PI and G/H in colour.

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.
