We love an antique bridges ring - popular from Victorian times - and this one from the Edwardian Era. Named after the bridges that dominated the London cityscape this ring is 118 years old - pre the first world war, pre the abdication of Edward VIII, and before women could vote in the UK. Featuring three beautiful opals and four tiny rose cut diamonds. The opals are well matched and their fire is stunning in greens, yellows, blues and pinks. One has now got a chunk missing from the top - but the fire in the stone makes it harder to see. We have been to a number of jewellers and opal dealers looking for a replacement stone - but no such luck - so she is being sold as is.
Particulars:
Size 8 or Q (moderately sizeable 1-2 letter sizes)
Weight 2.67g
Width face 7 x 16.6mm x 4.15mm proud on a half round shank of 2 x 0.7mm
Hallmarks fully hallmarked for 18ct Gold Birmingham 1907, maker's mark "E&W" and a love note that has worn it so we cannot read it - but it appears to be initials and a date.
Condition - one of the opals has a chunk missing - look at close ups - we have tried to replace it but cannot find one with as a good a colour, fire and pattern. The opal still glistens - but the price does reflect this. Wear to the gold and some of the diamonds that you would expect for a year of more than 100 years.
Care - As a general rule - jewellery should not be worn for strenuous tasks that may put pressure, chemicals and weight on them (think cleaning, gym, swimming/spa, carrying things). Jewellery should be inspected every six months by a jeweller to check for wear. Opals are delicate stones - this is a dress ring - not for ANY chemicals, cleaning, heavy lifting.
Please be aware that this item is pre-loved and therefore is NOT new. Please see the pictures and description to ensure you are happy with it before you buy. Stones may have tiny marks, chips or flea bites, metal will have marks of wear like surface scratches; but any bigger flaws will be clearly highlighted above. Also note - none of the other items or props in the photo come with the item and all measurements are approximate.
All items are available on lay-by - please get in touch to discuss options.

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.

As well as Afterpay and Paypal Pay-in-4 which are available at checkout, we also do traditional lay-by.
