3.5carat 5 Stone Parti Sapphire Ring, 9ct Yellow Gold, size R1/2 or nearly 9

Parti sapphires are magical. All the same, but no two alike. Parti sapphires are only native to three places: Australia, Kenya and Montana USA. What makes them so special is the fact that yellow and blue sapphires grow together and when these stones are cut an array of colours appears - from the deep blues, through so many shades of green, to yellow.

There are even amazing parti sapphires known as "Pharaoh's eyes" - where a yellow core is surrounded by blue. This is named after the Ancient Egyptian Third Eye - known as the Eye of Horus which was long worn by the Pharaohs as a symbol of health, protection and restoration. The second stone in has an effect much like this - and whilst it is not centred, we love how when this stone moves a sudden yellow shape appears surrounded in dark blue sapphire. 

All of the stones have this colour play that we expect from parti sapphires - teal green flashes abound and no two are the same. The middle stone has a river of yellow across the middle - giving it a lovely bright green in the sunshine and in the shade, the cascading shades of green which lighten to the middle. And one of the edge stones feels like it is coming ashore on a tropical beach - there is aqua and turquoise water lapping over a yellow beach. 

In the bright sunshine these stones often appear quite dark blue, but as the light catches them flashes of bright greens and blues bounce out and really draw the eye. 

Claw set these 5 stones are the same size - not graduated - and we love the effect. The band is a nice sturdy 9ct band - with all the focus on those stones that run across the whole top of the finger.
