Vintage Yellow & White Diamond Band, 1960s Style, Sterling Silver, size O or 7.25
Vintage Yellow & White Diamond Band, 1960s Style, Sterling Silver, size O or 7.25
We love it when we find silver and diamonds. A combination not overly used and we think that is an oversight. Silver is such a great metal - it does not need rhodium plated (like white gold) and it builds a fabulous patina. With modern jewellery moving further away from silver (mostly base metals silver plated) we love finding a silver treasure. Single cut diamonds were the stone of choice for melee diamonds (the little ones) from 1900s until about the 1960s. Most tiny diamonds now are brilliant cut - but we are suckers for the single cut. Often called "huit huit" (French for 8, 8, and pronounced wheat wheat) they are called this because they have 8 top facets (plus the table) and 8 bottom facets. The yellow diamonds are bezel set and make up the three flower faces. Styles like this was super popular in the 1960s, and this beauty definitely harks back to that era in style and diamond cut. The smaller white diamonds are grain set into the leaves. We love the use of both, the pattern and the styling.

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.
