Vintage Semi Bezel Round Sapphire, 9ct Yellow Gold, size V1/2 or 10.75
Vintage Semi Bezel Round Sapphire, 9ct Yellow Gold, size V1/2 or 10.75
The first second we saw this ring, we immediately thought of evil eye jewellery. The first time I ever came across evil eye jewellery, I was 9 and in Greece - I got a leather strand with evil eye beads tied every few centimetres. Learning that they have been used since Greek antiquity (and in other places) to ward off evil spirits and as a talisman, that same strand of beads has travelled with me as I have lived on three different continents - and they remain in a box (that I got from my grandmother). We love the idea that jewellery can empower feelings of protection and we love that this ring has all the feels of those pieces.
With a central 4.4mm natural dark sapphire semi bezel set in the cutout of this vintage ring, the focus is on the stone and the carved blank space. The raised almost signet ring style profile and the angular cutting into the edges are a lovely counterbalance to the round stone and oval carved shape. With a vintage "9ct" hallmark this lovely ring is at least 50 years old.

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.

As well as Afterpay and Paypal Pay-in-4 which are available at checkout, we also do traditional lay-by.

Valuations
Some of our items come with valuations we either got with the piece, or that we have had done by an independent gemologist.
