Vintage Red Coral Claw Set Cabochon, 9ct Gold, size 61/2 or M
Vintage Red Coral Claw Set Cabochon, 9ct Gold, size 61/2 or M
Red coral is one of the those tricky commodities - in a vintage ring like this, we love it, but the modern stuff that is causing so much damage makes our hearts sink.... so this little beauty has sat in the vault for a while - as it in itself has done nothing wrong, but in selling her we would hate to encourage the modern destruction of the reefs. We have tossed and turned, and decided that she is better to be loved and worn, but a constant reminder of the fragility of the planet and what we reckless humans are doing to it.
This amazing cabochon is divine - there is a layer in the top of the cabochon that is even clearer under UV and shows the natural build ups. The little white patch on her is actually a little nick to the coral - and it is the sign of wear that over 50 years of adornment has brought her. Held in a simple and sturdy four claw setting, with a double layer in the gallery, she is effortlessly chic. The reverse is empty and you see right through to the cabochon base.

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.

As well as Afterpay and Paypal Pay-in-4 which are available at checkout, we also do traditional lay-by.

Valuations
Some of our items come with valuations we either got with the piece, or that we have had done by an independent gemologist. We do not get valuations done on all pieces as we like to keep things as affordable as possible. However, we use a number of instruments to help us determine stones and list these details in the description of each piece.
