Vintage Chunky Early Australian Joseph Larence Gold 9ct Band, 9ct Yellow Gold, size U or 10 (fits smaller)
Vintage Chunky Early Australian Joseph Larence Gold 9ct Band, 9ct Yellow Gold, size U or 10 (fits smaller)
The knot of Joseph Lawrence has become iconic in Vintage and Antique Jewellery of Australia. As one of the lead producers of jewellery in Victoria in the first half of the 20th Century their mark has become well known and a collectable piece. Early pieces often have the Victorian guarantee mark alongside it, but those from the 1930s on did not as the guarantee marks fell from use. This fabulous chunky half rounded yellow gold wedding ring was made some time between the 1930s and 1973 - thanks to those trusty hallmarks. This ring is fabulously chunky and the half rounded exterior gives it a lovely sheen and reflection, but the flat inside does mean that it does feel like it is a snugger size. This ring is very happy on my S1/2 index finger - and that will be in part due to the width of the band, and in part due to that flat internal profile. This ring is weighty on the hand, and the patina that has built up is gorgeous - should you wish the ring to be polished to get rid of the surface scratches - we can sort that for you - but it will lose the patina.

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.
