Old Rosey Gold Trombone Link Watch Chain with sliding T-bar, 9ct Old Rosey Gold, 25g
Old Rosey Gold Trombone Link Watch Chain with sliding T-bar, 9ct Old Rosey Gold, 25g
Fancy link watch chains in old rosey gold covered in hallmarks are the holy grail of the watch chain hunt for us. This amazing piece was made by Albion Chain Co of Birmingham, who were chain makers in the early 1900s.
This amazing chain bears one original clasp, and t-bar - both hallmarked with the company name - and every single link - oval and trombone, bear the "9.375" mark. Unfortunately there is no date stamp - but the rose gold colour, and the fact that watch chains had significantly dropped in popularity by the 1940s (thanks to the invention of the wrist watch) we can assume this beauty was likely made in the 1910s - 1920s (ish) - the only two know dates for this company were 1910 and 1918 so that would fit too.
We absolutely love the shape and size of the links, the trombone links are elegant and the trilogy of ovals are well proportioned and show off those hallmarks. With a t-bar section that moves (and can be removed) and at a super wearable 41cm - this is a fantastic piece!

FAQ
Sizing
What do we mean when we say a ring is "sizeable"? Well, most standard rings can be made bigger or smaller by up to three letter sizes. If we say the item is "moderately sizeable", this usually means about 1 size, and if we say it is "not sizeable" or that "sizing is not recommended" it will be due to the construction - it could be age related, pattern related, have enamel etc.
We can happily help with sizing of rings, so please do get it touch if we can give you a quote.
