So when this darling appeared with a broken claw and a very scratched aquamarine, we jumped at the chance to restore her to former glory. We had assumed that under the rhodium on the band would be 18ct yellow gold (that platinum and 18ct yellow gold is such a strong 1930s ish thing) but low and behold - it is white gold - which is WAY less common. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eNow this stone - some of you will know Kirsty was lucky enough to acquire a little collection of sapphires and zircons from a family estate. The two brothers had spent a lifetime in the gemfields around Australia. Advertised widely in the 1970s, so many visited once and were hooked, returning again and again to strike their lucky for these amazing Australian gemstones. Even more fantastic, these two gents then learnt to cut their stones - and so these amazing stones were hand fossicked and hand cut. If you look into this magnificent stone - alongside the blue stripes (I will come back to them later) there is what appears a delicate plume of smoke. This is what we believe to be a silk inclusion and would suggest this stone is unheated - where 95% of the global market is heated. That is one of the things we love most about having collections like this - their uniqueness and their history. Now those stripes - often affectionately called \"sergeant stripes\" are the most delicate blue parallel lines that run across the face of this stone. As you can see from the pictures this stone has blue and teal shades to it - and that is because it is made of blue and yellow sapphires that formed together - and even more perfect are these blue stripes - its own amazing birthmarks. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eSet in a hand carved platinum head with diamond side stones this trilogy is a fantastic look and the symbolism of the past, present and future is delightful with this new amazing stone front and centre. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eParticulars: \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eSize O or just over 7 (sizeable)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eWeight 2.27g \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eWidth 7.25 x 11.95mm x 6.5mm proud on a half round shank of 1.7 x 0.75mm\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eStone - natural - likely unheated emerald cut natural blue teal sapphire 7.05 x 5mm  - known weight of 1.1ct - there is a small chip to the corner of this stone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eand 2 x 3mm natural diamonds - approx 0.2ct combined\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eHallmarks  \"18CT PLAT\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eCondition - stone is new replacement with natural lines and inclusions- it does have one small chip on the edge of a corner - please see photos. There is a curve in the pillar of the basket - see photos - this appears to have made at construction by the tools. Light surface wear to the metal.
