Given that the initials appear one way on the front and another on the inside we believe this ring to commemorate two souls taken by the brutality of war. We did start searching Ancestry's war records for siblings or father's and sons with these initials lost in 1915 - but, unfortunately there are just too many. What we do know. This amazing 15ct ring was hallmarked in Chester in 1915, and sadly looks like it was bought purely for this purpose. The ring features a memorial plaque on the front featuring the initials \"M.A\" and \"W.A\", 5 engraved panels above the hair, and 6 panels of delicately woven hair - maybe even all that was sent home from the Front of these two lost souls. The five panels are mirror images - the first pair are almost dragon fire in their design, the next two are decorated crossed Xs and the final panel is a set of arrows.
